Valatty (Malayalam Feature Film) - VFX Supervisor | Greengold Animations

Valatty (Malayalam Feature Film) - VFX Supervisor | Greengold Animations

For Valatty, I led the visual effects supervision, overseeing the research and development of fully CG dog heads that were seamlessly integrated onto live-action performances.

The process involved designing and sculpting high-fidelity 3D canine heads, developing realistic fur systems, achieving photorealistic lighting, and executing precise lip-sync animation. These CG elements were carefully composited to replace the original live dog heads while preserving natural motion and emotional authenticity.

As this marked the establishment of a new VFX division within the studio, I built and mentored a young team, training fresh artists in 3D sculpting, fur development, and cinematic lighting workflows. While Greengold’s strong animation expertise provided a solid foundation, the project required the creation of a dedicated VFX pipeline tailored to live-action integration.

I remain deeply grateful to Mr. Rajiv Chilaka for entrusting me with this unique and technically challenging opportunity.
